Today we are getting ready to go to the airport on a last minute trip. This is a great opportunity for me to show you what I do to prepare for a long trip. I want to bring a lot of healthy and easy to prepare foods for trips like these. I took some vegetables from my refrigerator and chopped them up (it took me about 15 minutes of prep time) into a vegetable salad. This will last us for 2 days (broccoli, spinach, beets, asparagus, radishes, fresh corn). It’s a light salad that will work for us because we aren’t going to be very active on this trip. This salad is full of nutrients and will make us feel very light and energized. Keep in mind if you are traveling on a plane, you can bring food, but not liquids. So, instead of storing my dressing in a container, I’m going to drizzle it on my salad and take it with me that way. This is my favorite quick and easy salad dressing, which you can find in my Easy Veggie Meal Plans, which you can get online. I make it by drizzling some sunflower seed oil, agave nectar and amino acids for the salt and fresh-squeezed lemon juice. It’s great! You can take a lot of healthy snacks on the plane (vegetables, nuts, seeds). I’m also going to pack some celery sticks and cucumbers.     Awesome videos! I’ve been vegetarian for almost 10 years and have just taken the step to be a vegan about a week ago. Got rid of diary and eggs because of Gary Yourofsky’s lectures! It feels so good!! It is really nice to watch your cooking and get some inspiration. Keep up the good work! Regards from Sweden.

    this is so great :-) I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian, but I have recently cut down considerably on my dairy/meat intake. I don’t eat much meat, hardly any dairy and when I do eat these products theyre always organic and free range.
    there are many days where I look back and realize that my diet on that particularly day was 100% and I feel great, both mentally and physically.

    @lizsy775 Phil & I did 2 weeks of 100% raw, and then 2 weeks of whatever % raw but I just used a few cooked condiments (balsamic vinegar, tamari, miso). It was great as a cleanse, and we do a high proportion of raw in the summer or as a periodic cleanse, but I don’t see it as a long term diet. It’s just so cleansing that your body will eventually need some building foods. Yes, you can sprout grains and beans, but most people don’t digest them very well raw. Go for it, just don’t get stuck in it.

    Might it be an idea to have a separate channel for the healthy eating/weight loss stuff? I know (and apply) my nutrition, and I’ve never had to lose weight, so I really came to your channel for the recipes, not diet info… But if I’m the only one who feels that way, move along, I said nothing, and I will ignore the non-recipe vids :-)

    @bennygroth lol a lot of people do this. Like she said, she was going on a long flight and wanted to make food to curb her hunger. They just wanted to show people how they prepare their food and what they eat. I don’t see how that could be a wrong thing to do before going to a funeral. People get hungry during flights you know and in case you havent heard, some funerals actually have food at them and it’s bad to mourn over the death of a person.
