@jonboy700 I grew up in Georgia and now I’m vegan :o ) You can do it!!

  4. zkt8ef says:

@healthyvegan Either would be great! I’m interested in which is more nutritionally sound- raw or cooked, though I’m sure it’s more complicated than that.

  5. healthyvegan says:

@zkt8ef do you mean raw vs. cooked foods, or a raw diet vs. cooked diet?

  6. healthyvegan says:

@WithChildLikeFaith wow, that sounds pretty intense, and some great results! thanks for sharing :)

@da1sinister1 No, you don’t actually lose weight with a few days of detoxing – at least not any significant amount. A detox is a good START to a weight loss plan, but it’s also a good start to a healthier eating plan and you can definitely maintain weight while detoxing. You can either maintain calories, and just eat a super clean diet (i.e. just cooked starchy vegetables or grains and lots of fresh produce), or take a few days with lighter calories and then go back up after

@toxicshockscenario interesting, haven’t heard of that one, I’ll have to look into it

  9. healthyvegan says:

@jonboy700 haha… maybe not just the size, but also the climate – it can be harder to cleanse up north :)

Could you do a video on raw food vs. cooked food if you have not already? Thanks!

  11. WithChildLikeFaith says:

Have gone 7 days without solid food 2xs before. 6 days of drinking vegetable and fruit juices, herbs, and powerful “colon cleanses” (a concoction containing black walnut, senna leaf powder, french clay, and stuff like that). Also did colonics once a day and had some scary stuff come out me like gall stones, parasites (tape worms), and undigested meat. After, I could sleep and awake easily, my allergies went away, I was more patient, the bags under my eyes disappeared,& regular bowel movements.

Does everyone lose weight when they detox? What happens if you want to mantain your weight would detoxing affect you.

I am waiting for it to warm up a little bit before I use the Kaeng Raeng vegan detox for 6 days. I have heard good things about it so I’m excited to see how it works. Thanks for the video =]

Thanks for your vid’s, Heather. As a new vegetarian – maybe soon to be vegan I’m enjoying your recipe’s. I’ve fasted regularly for years and recommend it for any/everyone. Maybe, living in the South – the fattest culture in the world, I think- I’m naturally motivated to do so:-) There are many grades that people should include: juice/water only, no meats or sweets… there are many others.

Thanks for the videos, Heather. Personally I have found that “lightening up” my diet from time to time or going raw for a few days definitely increases my energy and reduces cravings. I’ve fasted in the past but I’ve never done an actual detox. I will be looking forward to your upcoming video series. Please keep up the great work.

@bnb4evr86 fantastic, that’s a perfect goal for a light cleanse, good luck with it! :)

@throughtheotherside aw, thanks! I don’t wear makeup (well, occasionally liner/mascara when going out, but never foundation, powders or blush). I’ve always had generally clear skin, so I can’t attribute mine entirely to healthy eating, but the skin is certainly a reflection of your inner health and I do get pimples if I eat particular things. Sugar is a big one for me, and I have a suspicion of peanut butter. Phil’s skin has cleared up immensely since eating a clean diet. It has a BIG impact :)

  18. healthyvegan says:

@1221tam awesome, hope you learn some good stuff! there are definitely benefits to the master cleanse *IF* done properly, but most people don’t need to go to that extreme to get the benefits they’re looking for

  19. bnb4evr86 says:

I’ve never tried a fast but thinking of going on a week on [have the plan, its just sitting on the shelf] a detox [bad allergies, poor food choices..] and w/ the information you’ve provided, I’m now going to give it a try! My hope is to just clean up [and out?] a little to move on to better health. Thanks for the video and will be reading more about this : ]!

  20. throughtheotherside says:

Do you wear makeup? You always look so fresh in your videos. Do you feel that your healthy eating contributes to your good complexion?

  21. 1221tam says:

Looking forward to hearing more information this month on detoxing diet. I’ve never really stuck to one for more than a day. I’d like to try again though. I previously looked into a couple but they were really restrictive (i.e. Master Cleanse to name one). I don’t see a significant benefit to drinking a lemonade concoction for a week. Anyhow, curious to see what your ideas/suggestions are.
